Ellen Street Restaurant
Maxwell’s Ellen Street Restaurant is an idyllic place for an unforgettable food and wine experience. Constructed from limestone and old solid timber, the natural warmth of the building is complemented by large picture windows with breathtaking views overlooking the rolling hills of McLaren Vale. With guests surrounded by a vista of vines, the setting provides the perfect atmosphere for a relaxed and intimate occasion. Inside, an impressive limestone open fire creates a focal point, separating the restaurant from the cellar door.
With many years experience cooking in fine dining restaurants in Germany and Norway, most notably Michelin Star restaurant ‘Oro’ by Terje Ness, head chef Fabian Lehmann has a great passion for fine food and a broad level of experience after twelve years of working across the world in all different styles of restaurants. Fabian underwent his apprenticeship at a Michelin star hotel in Germany before working in Oslo, Frankfurt, and Qualia on Hamilton Island.
Fabian’s food draws from local, fresh seasonal produce with a real home-grown flavour through working closely with growers and local suppliers. This is food that is meant to be enjoyed amongst friends, accompanied by a glass of the some of the region’s finest wine. Unpretentious, tasty food.
