The Ellen Street Restaurant has been awarded a second consecutive ‘Fork’ at this years Advertiser Food Awards. This recent accolade puts us in the top 21 restaurants in South Australia. The amazing SA Blue Swimmer Crab salad entrée made it into the top 20 dishes of South Australia for 2015 and is a must try if you are visiting the winery, a perfect match to the Maxwell Adelaide Hills Chardonnay.

“Cellar Door dining doesn’t get much better than this. Tom Boden has poured his heart into Ellen Street, backing it with the skill and experience gained over a varied and impressive career. It’s there in his attention to detail and the refinement he brings to everything from the picture-perfect crab salad entrée with its garnish of white anchovies and violets, to the nutty, creamy perfection of Jerusalem artichoke soup with morsels of chestnut and chorizo; the light-as-a-cloud home-made pumpkin and ricotta gnocchi, the sticky, slow-cooked beef cheeks; even the sides, especially the Portobello mushrooms grown in Maxwell’s historic Lime Cave. These are hearty dishes, generously portioned and reflecting the produce of the restaurant’s ‘sea and vines’ location. Separated from cellar door by an open fireplace, the dining room is a light, airy space with vineyard views on all sides. On summer evenings, the wide terrace is the perfect place to watch the sun set.”
