Nero d'Avola 2022

Nero d'Avola is without question one of the jewels in the Sicilian winemaking crown, and is found growing between the smoldering volcano of Mount Etna and the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.

In recent years the variety has found a warm welcome in McLaren Vale's Mediterranean climate.

This Nero is a bright vivid purple hue & displays lush blackberries, black cherry and bramble fruit aromas with a bright cherry & plum palate. It has a long lasting finish and can be enjoyed by itself or with Mediterranean-style dishes.

"A very good year in McLaren Vale has allowed the winemakers to pick this at a slightly lower baume resulting in less overt alcohol and as a result a better balanced and more pleasing wine. The variety which hails from Sicily is becoming increasingly popular in Australia. It’s a vibrant and high energy wine with cherry and spicy plum notes. The fine lingering acidity keeps it together sustaining a long finish. Very good example of this variety."
