Maxwell is excited to welcome Kate Petering as its new Head Winemaker.
Propelled into the role of Head Winemaker at the renowned Mt Langi Ghiran at the age of 29, Kate Petering has achieved outcomes in her short career some winemakers never do.
Four overseas vintages in Burgundy, France, Emillia Romagna, Italy, Napa Valley, California and almost 9 years at Mount Langi ghiran have shaped Kate's love for making wines of texture, perfume and fruitfulness.
She won the best red wine of show at the 2012 Royal Sydney Wine Show with the 2010 Mt Langi CLiff Edge Shiraz and continued to achieve gold medal awards with her wines until she left country Victoria to return to South Australia in 2015.
Kate has just completed her first vintage at Maxwell Wines and the whole team is thrilled to work with Kate as she begins to craft her best expressions of Maxwell's parcels of McLaren Vale Shiraz and 90-year-old grenache vineyard.
